Pengaruh Suplementasi Ekstrak Propolis Terhadap Ketebalan Otot Polos Bronkiolus pada Mencit Asma

Abstract


Asma bronkial ditandai dengan peradangan saluran nafas kronis, dan timbul secara klinis penyempitan jalan nafas (mengi dan dyspnea) dan batuk. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak propolis sebagai terapi asma terhadap ketebalan otot polos bronkiolus pada mencit asma. Mencit betina Balb/C  25 ekor yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kontrol normal (K1), kontrol negatif (K2), teofilin (K3), ekstrak propolis (K4), kombinasi teofilin + ekstrak propolis (K5). Pada hari ke-0 mencit disensitisasi dengan  10µg  OVA+ 1 mg Alhidrogel dalam 0,5 mL NaCl steril  0,9% secara intraperitoneal. Pada hari ke-14  20µg  OVA+ 2 mg Alhidrogel dalam 0,5 mL NaCl steril  0,9% secara intraperitoneal Pada hari ke-21, ke-23, ke-25 mencit diinhalasi OVA1%. Pada hari ke-26 sampai ke-39 kelompok  K3 diberi teofilin 0,338 mg/hari, kelompok K4 diberi ekstrak propolis dosis 4 mg/ hari dan kelompok K5 diberi kombinasi teofilin + ekstrak propolis. Pada hari ke-40 mencit diterminasi untuk dianalisis ketebalan otot polos bronkiolus. Perbandingan antara kelompok negatif rata-rata rata-rata 5,35± 0,06 µm dapat diturunkan dengan ekstrak propolis (K4) rata-rata 3,73± 0,2 µm, nilai p=0,01 artinya antara kelompok kontrol negatif dan kelompok ekstrak propolis ada perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik. Ekstrak propolis  terbukti dapat menurunkan ketebalan otot polos bronkiolus mencit asma
